Ask someone - anyone to tell you three things he/she associates with the United States. One of these things will either be burgers or McDonalds. Last night we celebrated the American tradition of preparing food over a flame aka barbecue. I have no clue why but burgers in the US are special. They taste better than burgers anywhere else - even if it's just the ones out of a box. I can't get enough of them and always love a fresh one off the grill.
Update: As explained here the title "American Barbecue" is misleading. What we did was prepare/broil burgers on a grill. They were super delicious but it wasn't (American) barbecue. But I'm looking forward to a real American barbecue sometime in the future!
